You can use live broadcasts to enhance and maximise direct communications with your audience, including new audiences you want to engage with. Live streaming an event or a one-on-one interview with a researcher gives you the opportunity to reach and interact with more people across the world.
The key things to think about are:
- Setting – somewhere interesting or related to the researcher’s work (if applicable), low levels of background noise and good lighting levels.
- Internet connection – a strong Wi-Fi or 4G connection is required
- Audio – a microphone may be required if you are filming at an event or if you are moving around with the camera
- Lighting – good natural or artificial lighting levels are crucial
